General Introduction to Terminology

The size of the section already shows the emphasis of this work: It focuses on terminology, terminology work and related techniques, terminologic data bases (and its formats). The theories of terminology science will be applied to the domain of Spoken Language Systems.

The chapter starts with a brief introduction to the fields of terminology and spoken language systems. A closer look at terminology science and terminology and knowledge introduces the main ideas of this field of science at the end of this chapter.
